Having designed and delivered the Syd Hayes brand identity, I was commissioned to develop a packaging system that would reflect the brand’s premium ambitions. The brief was to design a pack for Syd's unique hair pin concept, 'The SydPin'. A memorable and eye catching box was required, with a tactile and engaging customer experience. Something that feels aspirational and a product that someone would be proud to own.
The plan was for this to be the first in a range of Syd Hayes accessories and therefore the long term objective for this packaging scheme was for it to be applicable to future products.
Working closely with contemporary fashion and beauty illustrator Nuno De Costa, we developed a set of illustrations for use on the pack as a way of depicting how to use the pin.
